Campus News: Report from 5th Annual Leadership Conference

The recently ended 2008 Leadership Conference held in Kitwe, Zambia was a tremendous blessing. God visited his people with his presence. The spirit throughout the week testified of God's response in answer to the prayers of His people. When the count was complete 105 different sessions took place during the course of the week taught by 17 different men and women.
Over 180 men and women attended the conference this year from cities across Zambia and from Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of South Africa and the United States.
Workshops were conducted on a variety of topics: Creation and Science, Book of Titus, Teaching Children, Mormonism, Principles of Stewardship, Requirements for church planting across national borders, and Counseling foundations are just a sample of some of the workshops offered this year.
A special word of thanks to those presented sessions at the Conference this year: Todd Beaman, Kevin Brosnan, Saidi Chishimba, Bernard Chiwala, Jerry Frye, Sam Horn, Philip Hunt, Erin Jones, Stephen Jones, Francis Kaunda, Bill Knipe, Edward Mwanisa, Kapambwe Nsenduluka, Lee Peterson, John Smith, Sophie Smith, Nathan Washer.
Dr. Sam Horn led the pastors through the Book of Revelation in the Expository Preaching class. This class was well attended with 77 pastors in attendance. Study resources were provided to each of the pastors who attended. We praise the Lord for providing in this way.
Thursday evening was a highlight of the week as we dedicated the new CABC campus to the Lord. As the students sang "Faithful Men" we were reminded of what God requires in His servants. Phil Hunt and Sam Horn brought messages from the Word. The Mayor of Kitwe, Mr Katete addressed the assembled crowd on behalf of the city government. Pastor Saidi Chishimba called upon God to bless the ministry of Central Africa Baptist College and dedicated the new facility to the Lord. Pastor Chishimba and CABC Board Member, Dr. Joe Helm did the honors of cutting the ribbon and opening the new building. We praise the Lord for His provision of a campus for Central Africa Baptist College.
We are looking forward to next year's Leadership Conference which will be held 30 November - 4 December 2009. Please mark this date on your calender and make plans now to attend.
